Babak Salary will be the head programmer of the experimental category



Babak Salary is based in Montreal, educated at Concordia University and Dawson College and specialized in black and white documentary photography. Salari has been documenting the life of common people in Afghanistan, Jordan, Iraq, Kurdistan, Palestine, Israel, Mexico, Cuba, Bulgaria. He is a programmer of the experimental category of Montreal Independent Film Festival. He is a social documentary photographer based in Montreal and his works have been published and exhibited all over the world. Babak Salary has been documenting the social, political and human rights issues in the Middle East, Europe, and South America through his black and white photography. Babak Salary has also been very active in cinema in the past three decades as a consultant in various festivals such as TIFF, Montreal, Sofia festival, and Thessaloniki in Greece. He is also the recipient of the Gold Addy Award in 2004.
